Golden's getting screened, bassman. Stokes, instead of hedging the screen, stood back in the paint and allowed the ball to driven right at him every play. It was essentially just a switch. So, you are right that Golden has to get back there and box Buckner out instead of just standing there. But, the main problem was the lack of any help given by Stokes off the ball screen.
He probably wasn't, but when you don't hedge at all and stay back in the paint, it is essentially a switch. Golden had to box out Buckner because the point guard had engaged Stokes.
Stokes is going to be great, no doubt, but right now he sometimes looks as awkward as a new born baby giraffe
