I keep reading where there's not a lot there

    It's bullshit.

Jennings is a stud, Byrd is your slot receiver and Calloway was recruited by everyone. Brandon Johnson looked really good in limited action.

Latrell Williams can fly, Josh Smith is serviceable and Jeff George should be decent.

Throw in Fant, Murphy, Jones and Palmer, there's a lot of depth. That's one place that gets looked at as a weakness that really isn't one at all.

Hell, Calloway has a punt return for a td in the books. Butch can't say he doesn't have any experience returning there either

I'm sure those young guys got plenty of reps in our blowout wins over Appy State, Ohio, and Vandy.

Eh, I mean I guess I'd agree there's more there than some in the media would have you believe. I think part of it is that in four years we've only seen one receiver have a big year and it's hard to have faith in any one of these guys to do that.

The talent is there. It's been there.

And there's the problem with expecting more than you've gotten before.

Well I think we have a better passer and a WR coach that may not have his head up his ass.

It's not so much that as it is simply depth isn't the problem.

And that's fair, I'm just gonna have to see it before I believe it. Jennings is a bad man but I'm not sure I think his ceiling is that high as a #1 WR in the SEC.

No possible way we could have adequate depth. It's only year five and it takes a minimum of 7 years.

I know this because a guy that had never been a head coach anywhere longer than 3 years and had only 6 total years of head coaching experience said it.

Really? I don't think he's even approached his ceiling.

He's in year 3 as a wide receiver and his first with a competent position coach

I don't think he's reached his ceiling, I'm just not as high on his potential as others.

Yeah, 6' 3" guys with 4.5 speed and 40 inch verticals are usually just average college receivers

Not to mention he has that sharp edge to him.

    Callaway looks super atheltic.

I'm anxious to see Latrell Williams this year. Dude has elite speed.

And Byrd needs to touch the ball many many times every game.

Yep, depth at WR isn't much of a concern.

Maybe if you pretend he's in an Auburn jersey.

Oh. Then he's gonna save Malzahn's career.

    Then he'd be WR3.

Jennings had 50 receptions and 580 yards to go along with 7 tds.

Auburn's leading receiver, who's gone now, had 31 receptions for 487 yards and 3 tds
