Our middle school is busing all of the 6th graders out to Lenoir City where it will be in totality. I am thinking of grabbing the kids and heading that way, as well. Since work is real close to Lenoir, I imagine we will be almost in totality if not in it. EDIT: Yep, Pellissippi State is right on the edge inside of the totality zone. But closer to Lenoir it will last longer I imagine.
Protect your eyes, don't look at it without real eye protection. Doubly true for children, make sure your kids have something and know not to look at the sun, even partially eclipsed, without it. Kids can get serious damage very quickly. I have a meeting scheduled during it. Sucks.
Fine, be a slave to your corporate overlords. EDIT: Actually there will be another one in 2024, and if you are still in DC, it will be a closer drive to you to get into totality.
I'm basically the only person at work who didn't plan ahead and take off, so, I'll be at work, although hopefully it'll be good enough to see here and I can step outside for a minute
