They've assembled a damn good DL class, a really good OL class, two QBs and two of the best safeties in the country. Both running backs are guys that had offers from everywhere too.

He needs two LBs and a CB and he's set.

 

Just got a commit from a punter from South Carolina.

He has no stars, but in his videos he kicks the shit out of the ball. I have no idea how else you gauge a punter

 

5 star heart, competitive character, resiliency, resolve, just to name a few.

 

Based on a headline I saw, someone must have had him ranked the nation's number 2 punter. Or did he come in second in some nation-wide camp or something?

Yeah, seems like that is the standard and he's number 2 on there.

He'll probably get the generic 5.5 kicker rating soon.

I would actually love to see a Div I coach try the whole no-punt, always-on-side-kick method. Statistically it is better.

 

Speed getting the punt off would be another good one. Matt Darr liked to catch the ball and look at it for about 5 seconds before he decided it drop it toward his foot.

 

I really buy into it, if you're not as talented.
