  1. Tenacious D

Tenacious D The law is of supreme importance, or no importance

There isn't a single coach besides Gruden, Stoops, Kelly and Patterson who've won a damned thing.

    Nothing.

Miles won a Natty. Even said he is tier 2 to the guys I want.

I predict a prolonged search and the announcement of Les Miles on December 11.

The most interesting unsubstantiated name I've read so far is Josh McDaniels.

    McDaniels has Peyton's stamp

Yeah I’d be willing to give that a try

Agree. He's my number one until gruden or Kelly step to the podium. He just wasn't listed in OP

Makes perfect sense. The only real problem with him is the NFL calendar.

What connection does he have to Peyton?

We should hire Gruden. He really is the right guy for us. Wins and losses matter, but it goes a little further. Gruden would play Tennessee football. I would be proud beyond words. We would nut up.

Once Gruden says NO 3 times, then Chip Kelly.

I don't believe in Stoops. Better than many but I don't believe.

After that, and after the Doofus Brick parade, it's all a compromise. We are owed better. If we fish in the same bathtub, we get the same crap. Yes, you can find a good mid-major coach. But damn. We deserve a ringer this time. But if not, my 2nd tier is experienced coaches and not the next big thing. Tired of gimmick ball.

    2nd Tier...

    Muellen
    Miles
    Cut
    Solich
    Schiano
    Tressel
    Fulmer

Yes I know. The point is stop it with up and comers. Hire someone who has been there. They can caretake a few years.

Sweatervest is interesting. Being gone that long, though, I worry he's lost his edge. And his coaching tree. So I'm not sure where his coordinators come from.

McDaniels has been on my top tier list more than once. I like him.

I'd sign Bo Pelini for three years, and three years max. Then he can go back to whatever he wants to do, that isn't D1 football related. Ultimate slap in Nebraska's face, so he'd probably be game.

Peyton thinks he's a good coach

I think it is just an indirect NFL connection. Basically said Manning was already pimping JM. Probably has no legs, but it is an interesting thought.

Justin Fuente is impressive to me. I would have him in tier 2.

And he worked for Nick Saban, Saban guys haven't worked out here

Or anywhere, really. But somehow all of Saban's coordinators are still good...

He's lost to Butch. I think he's a good coach, but you can't hire a guy that got best by the guy you fired

Fulmer? The guy who couldn’t get the Memphis job?

Except in the state of Florida. UF and FSU seem to like their Saban guys
