Is this a new incident or referencing the one from a few years back?

It will be genuinely embarrassing if he coaches one more game.

I’d prefer him not being there.
If we can’t have that, then rocks.

Take this for what it's worth, from someone I trust:

John Currie is infuriated at the fanbase and how they've been harassing him over canning this charlatan masquerading as a head football coach. He's one of these people that are more than well aware of what's going on and always wants to be viewed in the best possible light. And he's a grade A, world class asskisser to those that are in higher positions than him. He thought, spectacularly incorrectly, that Butch Jones would at least win enough games to keep it from going totally off the rails. Even he can't believe how bad this is playing out.

But, at the same time, he is more agitated at the UT fans and is keeping Butch Jones as a big middle finger to the fanbase. He wants the fans to know HE'S the boss. And no one is going to tell him what to do.

So, Jones will not be fired this week, or next week, or the week after that. Currie will can Butch Jones following the season and not one second before. No one is going to tell King Currie what to do (except the few that his head is buried up their asses).

This has nothing to do with who will be the next coach. It's more of a Currie power trip and big middle finger to the fanbase and something that shows them, "who the real boss is around here."

You've got to start thinking, maybe it's just not going to happen. Maybe Currie is the bean counter a lot of people said he was.

    They said after South Carolina.....
Then it was Alabama, no doubt.....
Then Kentucky - win or lose....

[uck fay]er is going to die of old age leading UT to 4-8 seasons with team 151

Ehhh, not buying. Any fan base in the country would be acting very similarly. Shouldn't be surprising or infuriating.

That’s the stupidest [dadgum]ed thing I’ve ever read. Seems about right for Tennessee.

sponsors and donor issues are going to cost the AD millions this year and going into next. I'll be one who doesn't think he would power trip to show the fans who's boss, while people he answers to and asks money from are losing $, and won't give him any unless he fixes it.

how much $ does it cost Pilot on a gameday weekend with the situation like it is at this moment? How many millions. Fewer people at games. Fewer tailgating. Fewer on the road and having watch parties.

Hubbs just posted that he asked for a statement from Currie regarding the state of the football program, and he was told there would be no statement.

Shit, if Currie is putting out there that he's "Angry with the fans", shit is going to get real ugly.

No press conference announced for today or tomorrow, outside of Botch's already scheduled one on Monday.

    Perfect.

Screw this shitshow. Guess we roll over and let Southern Miss go in dry because .... well just because it fits the plan. And we’ll be damned before we go against a plan.
