If Pruitt's calling card is recruiting then we are going to need these top recruites to help out with his HC on the job training.

If he can't get some of these top rated guys then I don't think he'll be successful as a HC.

Emmit Gooden visiting on his own dollar. Seems like he wants to be a Vol. Not sure we want him or that he qualifies.

Price on the VQ podcast seems to think our chances with Griffin are done.

How many coaches land numerous elite prospects in such short order? Did Saban in his first year? And even Saban didn't have this early signing period

Nope. Saban’s first class at Alabama was ranked 12th, as was Meyer’s first class at UF. Pete Carroll’s first class at SC was ranked 20th. Next year will tell the tell. With the amount of in-state talent abd the staff he’s assembled, anything outside of a top five class should be considered a disappointment.

Saban was an established HC when he got to bama.

Pruitt is going to need the type of players that he's been coaching to be successful. If recruiting is what he does best then we're going to need a strong finish come signing day.

Again, there's no reason and no precedence for expecting a coach to land a massive class on such short notice - especially since over half of the prospects in the country are already signed

He didn't - that's coming from the recruiting site guys with "sources" close to the program.

Meyer wasn’t an established coach. Pete Carroll was a failure in the nfl when hired by SC. Jim Harbaugh was an “established” coach when he took over at UM, yet the biggest recruit he landed in his first class was a four star Tight End.

Exactly. Had there been an early signing period in December ‘08 Janzen Jackson would have signed with LSU and Nu’keese would have signed with UF. That would have deprived Kiffin of two of his three top recruits in his first class.

What exactly did these "sources" say?

Brown might have signed with Miami as well.

They did. Dean and Pruitt didn't like each other from a Bama camp

Pruitt had already turned down both players at Bama, probably left a bad taste in their mouth.

Meyer was already a pretty big deal when Florida landed him. Not college football royalty, but very highly regarded and I think would qualify as established. I don't think that really detracts from your point, but it was a big deal when they hired him.

I think it’s a little early to pigeon hole Pruitt as a 1 trick pony (recruiting). Now hopefully he does indeed know that trick. We will find out in 2019.

Not saying you were wrong to be worried, but he's recruiting for UT on Twitter from Tallahassee. Like our chances here.
