Hate to beat a dead horse, but just saw where Pujols' contract is ridiculously backloaded. He'll be getting $12M next year, and he'll make well over $30M in his 40s.
He's as important to the pitching staff as anyone else. With the young arms coming up, I really have no problem with it.
Lohse throws half as well as he did tonight and he'll be just fine this season. That was about as good of an opening night performance as you can ask for.
At work, not able to watch, but from webcast, it sure reads like it. It's a pitchers duel like I thought it would be.
I realize the bats are going to normalize at some point, but I think we're going to score runs all year.
If you think about it, Freese has hit the whole time he's been on the roster, even back to his rookie year. His power seems to have improved. Here's hoping he stays off the dad burned DL, which has been his nemesis.
