They want to bring Dixieland Delight back at Bama, and are asking their fans to “keep it classy”, so there’s no way that this won’t work. From a SDS article: They’ve even got the big guns out, in Terry Saban, to help in the effort. Why was it banned to begin with, you ask? Nothing could POSSIBLY go wrong. EDIT: After listening to the song, I don't know what the issue is. [uck fay] Auburn.
It’s a song about driving down 11W in East Tennessee. Like, I’m bout 75% sure Randy Owen has even admitted it. They’re [uck fay]ing idiots for doing it in the first place. If would be like Florida playing Sweet Home Alabama at home game becasue Skynyrd is from Jacksonville.
Legit question - other than the brief mention of Knoxville, does this song / band have some other Tennessee connection?
It's a song about adapting the moonshining tradition into producing and distributing illegal drugs in East Tennessee and killing law enforcement that tries to stop them. You know, the sort of thing that gets all the nice, church-going law-and-order types of East Tennessee excited.
