Seems to not always work so well for mobile users that way.

if I managed to earn any respect from Lex when we met last weekend, I'm about to throw it out the window....

John Prine is an amazing songwriter, his songs are always heart touching and moving, but he is an absolutely horrible singer. I'll gladly listen to his songs, provided someone else sings them.

This band has probably replaced the Allman Bros and Pearl Jam as my actual favorite, but this is the closest I've ever came to admitting as much:

this was from their acoustic show in Richmond last year.

I have to admit I basically agree, but I would call him a not so great singer as opposed to horrible. Has some epic songs.

I got no qualms with disagreement...it is music and all about taste. There was a reason that I typed "artist" rather than "singer". Prine is a national treasure.

    Borderline.

I don't love them, but I know enough to know that people who are into Fleet Foxes are *really* into Fleet Foxes.** That's a compliment.

**Know who else this applies to? Tori Amos. People who like Tori Amos freaking LOVE Tori Amos.

Maybe the most haunting voice I've ever heard, Ian ******. I don't know how many are familiar with them, but ****** committed suicide right before they were to hit it big in America. The rest of the group formed New Order, another good group that I played heavily in my college days (along with the Beastie Boys and The Clash). This is their big hit, but I kind of prefer the second one, which is about a guy whose girlfriend is having a psychotic breakdown.

Why is Cur tis a banned word? Weird. Anyway, here's another Joy Division song that's pretty damn good (later covered by Nine Inch Nails), even though it takes two minutes for the singing to come in, along with one of my favorite Bad Brains songs.

This guy was an extremely talented songwriter, and was also extremely talented at being mentally unstable. The latter consideration won the day in the end, though it isn't clear that he off'd himself. It was listed as a suicide, but there is a lot of evidence suggesting that it was more likely a homicide done by his crazy girlfriend.
