That is exactly why I thought Liberty would pick him up--they care so much about winning and getting high-profile guys and they don't have any moral qualms about anything (except maybe socialism). Once that job opened up, it was the perfect fit.

I don't think there was ever an official offer. Some talk of a deal may have happened, but I don't know if there was ever anything officially. I do believe he was the #1 choice. JMO
Agreed. I don't think it was on paper but it was the hire he thought he was going to make. UT made the right move avoiding Freeze if vetting turned up even more stuff. You know its even worse than most people thought when Liberty was the only team willing to take him.
If both of these things are true - and I have no reason to doubt you, or either of these posts - then it raises some uncomfortable questions about Pruitt, and not only how he conducted this search, but as a person. That you do your vetting / gain approvals before talking to someone is Coaching / AD 101 shit. Just ask John Currie.
I get the frustration, but blaming Sexton for TN’s ills is exactly like blaming the other guy for banging your wife.
