Leads me to think Coley is more likely than Sark, in terms of their overall spend on offensive staff, but who knows.
I didn’t think that such a personal attack could sting so badly, if unintentional. But, here we are, and I was wrong.
So UGA countered UT's original offer and UT countered that. Chaney took the UT counter. UGA tried to keep him.
And smugass UGA fans being glad Chaney is gone feel like UT fans being glad Cutcliffe was gone after 2007. "He cost us the SECCG/Florida/etc games and his offense is stale and antiquated". Yeah, bring the Clawfense to Athens, please.
Either that or they're afraid that Chaney going forces them to pay out the ass to keep Pittman. And they were right. It would have been cheaper to keep Chaney and give Pittman a small bump than lose Chaney and pay Pittman a huge increase to avoid losing him. They're in a bad spot right now as a top-end OC will not go to UGA for market value and be paid less than his OL coach. So UGA could be looking at $1.6/1.8mil for a top-end OC or having to promote someone that will just be thankful for the job.
