Slow and steady wins the race definitely applies to weight loss. Some weeks can be frustrating, but sticking to your workouts/diet will yield results.

    That's awesome. I love a finish I wasn't expecting or fearful I'd mess up.

On the other end of the achievement spectrum, I managed to not poop myself for the last two miles of my four mile run today.

    Tip:

Take your scale, go outside and put it under your car tire and run over it at least ten times.

Girl was talking smack at the gym yesterday about being able to out leg press. I kid you not, she does eight reps of 720 in her work clothes. Needless to say, I will no longer talk trash to a girl.

That's a much better indicator than the scale. Consistency is key. Always do one of the big 4 multi joint moves: squat, press, dead lift, bench press. Also pull ups/chin ups, dips and push ups good. Give Tabata a try for conditoning and get the sugar and highly processed foods and vegetable oils out of your diet. Get rid of bread and most starchy carbs as well. Learn to love the barbell. The rest is just detail. It's really that simple.

And limit your beer consumption, very bad on your testosterone production.

I personally hate long and slow, I much prefer short high intensity...applies to sex as well. Lots of research supporting this.

We had an end of the year 200 rep test we did every year. Everybody had to attempt it, no matter their max. I broke my arm freshman year and was fairly weak. That thing dropped fast.

I was barely tipping 100 on the scales as a freshman. 200 would have killed me.

Just finished 5 sets of 5 of bench of 145. Its not much, but its also the most ive been able to do since 1998. Im pretty proud of myself.
