I’m not saying there’s an issue with inheritance. But nobody is born with a GPA of 3.7. I just don’t think the comparison is apples to apples.

Norris could get a large pay rise, which would affect how his peers at his work would negotiate their salary, which would affect his peers at other institutions, etc, etc, etc.

Eventually, it could affect you based on the way Norris' field is priced and you either indirectly or directly helping to cover that price.

Just pretend I said something about a 15 dollar minimum wage, then it will suddenly be obvious to you.

I would say it is more that there is something of a rare combination nowadays of the hard worker and hard saver.

I certainly wouldn’t say you are lazy if you haven’t made it by 35. Hopefully you’ve at least gotten on the path at that point, though.

What if they had spreadsheets to show you?

Pretend I said something about your own lack of success not being your fault and then we can both be happy.

Not everyone can possibly be on a path at any age. It is that whole "think of the average person. Now 50% of people are less than that." This is all coming back to being comfortable with an underclass or not.

I’d compliment the work of the actuary that presented such a compelling distortion.

Correct they are not willing to put forth the effort. But No it does not mean that they are lazy. If you read my prior post it means hey have different priorities in life. They prefer 9-5, every meal with the family, attendance at children's events, etc. and would not give it up no matter how much money were offered. It is about everyone finding what makes them happy. Money doesn't buy it.

I am fine, I think I am on a path towards success.

There is a sizable portion that has no interest in finding or setting foot on the path. An underclass is inescapable.

This would be something I could buy 50 years ago, but not now. My parents didn't work 9-5 or have every meal with us, attend events, etc. They aren't millionaires or on a path to it, they were doing what was necessary just to keep a roof over us and lights on.

Too bad. I’m making all the money, just so you’ll be poor.

Like I said, people always feel personally attacked by this kind of topic.

How many kids should someone have?

Nope. But if you’ve dropped the discourse to “pretend I said such and such then you’ll understand,” I’ll go down the low road with you.

And Norris could also create some badass Boudist canoe camp stretching across, the globe and be a millionairre if he wanted to.
Buy some land, throw up some little cabins and go vrbo. Boudacanoe and Survival guru, Norris VanAllan, Owner and Guide.

And what career paths did they choose?

Varies from parent to parent. As the number of children goes up your ability to amass wealth goes down. That is a problem for some parents. Not for others.

Time and money are your two main things you have to figure out how to manage. Kids require a lot of both.

Man, it is literally the same damn thing-- the 15 dollars an hour is no different than Norris or anyone else making more or less-- both would have ripples across what others made and what things cost. I wasn't saying it to be a [penis].
