This is the last one I finished. I’ve completed two A style mandolins and the H5 mandola I’m working on now is the first time I’ve tried to build a mando with a scroll. I’m no Lynn Dudenbostel (a discerning eye will spot several, several flaws in this instrument!!) but they sound pretty good (which to me, is the bottom line for musical instruments. If they don’t sound good, it doesn’t matter how good they look.) for an amateur builder. I’d like to try a guitar also one of these days.
Awesome man. I love to hear that. I always worry, in all work I do, not just knives, that sometimes will happen to it when I finish. Please let me know if it needs anything touched up on it, I'll take care of it asap.
Ive used the knife 3-4 a week since i got it. Wife laughs when its hooked on my elastic waistband gym shorts. Only cut myself once, 30 seconds after i opened it.
Some guys sell it at a reasonable price, the bottom one cost me 250 coconuts to make. The top wasn't nearly as bad, maybe 60 to make. I etch it in ferric chloride acid, I have a 4 inch pvc pipe full of it that I'll let soak for 5-10 minutes
Yep @kmf600 , keep posting them. Also, I have subscriptions on YouTube where guys make knifves and restore old metal parts and tools. If you haven't seen these maybe check them out (and anyone else for that might be interested as well) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8q2GgxOUS_Dzd5KIYeJQIw https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJUjhvDg_snErfcnv2P_GoQ
