Bailey is going to pay 40k out of state tuition to sit for a year?

 

Probably more like "pay".

 

The idea has been mentioned. People have sites that he hasn’t been formally signed/announced or something along those lines. No idea if that’s true.

 

Aint no way some dude who went to Oregon wants to be at UT so badly hes going to pay to sit a year to play in 2.

 

I'm just passing on what I've read. I'm not telling you it's what's happening or that it makes sense.

But it's not like he's just some random Oregon kid that is randomly coming to UT. He has some sort of a connection to Barnes through his mother, who apparently worked at Texas back when Barnes was there (or something along those lines).

 

He was losing playing time at Oregon.

 

It has been stated that he was "in the doghouse." If true, that could mean a number of things aside from him just not being that good at basketball.

Yup. Sounds like that option is off the table.

That leaves us with 2 targets left (Blackshear and Bilau) and no spots available. Somebody's gotta go if we are going to get one of them, 2 somebodies if we want both.

Either way, we should know soon.

 

when is blackshear deciding?

 

Nothing official yet, but I’ve seen people saying the expect a decision sooner rather than later. Likely next week or the following week.

 

Supposedly its between us and UK.

 

then we have a decent chance. I think we have some real advantages in terms of playing time and standing out. he will not blend here.

 

Maybe he will pay his own way

 

If we beat out UK for him then we improve to 3-1 over them for the year.

my lord, we are potentially right back in the mix if we get Blackshear.

 

We would really need to have some of the 2nd tier players step up beyond Bowden and Turner, who are, really, the only two proven players, at this point. James needs to be as good as advertised and Pons must improve markedly.
