Every time my wife references her mom or my mom, I drop a "your mom goes to college" from Napoleon Dynamite and it drives her up the wall.
That is a really good list. It is skewed to your lifetime, of course, as you don't seem to have many movies before 1960s. Have you seen Casablanca? GREAT movie. One of the best of all time and my favorite and will preach it to anyone that will listen.
Movies I watch anytime they are on: Star Wars Back to the Future A Few Good Men Tombstone Harry Potter Dumb and Dumber Tommy Boy Airplane Forrest Gump Home Alone Halloween Sandlot
Spaceballs has a 59 on RT. Meanwhile, The Princess Bride has a 97. If it isn’t your thing, that’s fine but you can’t judge without actually watching. Also, Spaceballs is fun and definitely worth the occasional watch.
I asked my son what he was going to do last Saturday and he said, "whatever the heck i wanna do. Gosh"
Movies like Dumb and Dumber, Tommy Boy and (I assume, having never seen it) Napoleon Dynamite are just not my cup of tea. I know a lot of people gush over Tommy Boy and Chris Farley, but I never enjoyed his brand of comedy. Adam Sandler is in this realm as well, though a few of his movies were OK (Waterboy).
Norris im surprised you and your boys havent watched Napolean. Its still a movie my whole family will stop, watch and laugh.
You love Napoleon Dynamite, opinion invalid. Seriously though, I actually don’t. Just referencing to show that there is a huge difference in the two. Princess Bride is a great movie. Period.
Great movie and characters. Shocked I liked it. Went in, took it to serious at first then realized the silliness.
Somebody did this already: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sight_&_Sound_Top_50_Greatest_Films_of_All_Time Maybe even a few somebodies: https://www.listchallenges.com/amc-greatest-100-movies-of-all-time http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20150720-the-100-greatest-american-films Quibble if you want, but there is little to add to that BBC list.
I hate Sci-Fi, in general, and have only seen the Star Wars flicks because my oldest son likes them, and to watch them together hasn’t become our thing. That someone who detests that entire genre must still acknowledge its greatness, is in and of itself, a testament to that fact.
