Maybe I’m just expecting the worst, but “wait until an official statement has been issued” doesn’t sound very positive.
It seems in situations like this, "serious injuries" or "critical condition" reports come out pretty quick. When there is a big gap with no news, it's usually while family is notified. Hopefully, that isn't the case here.
All that said, I can't think of many worse hits than that wreck. A car doing 175+ mph hit right in the roof/driver's side window area hard enough to launch Newman's car in the air.
Definitely. I'm still anxious to hear the extent of his injuries. Anything from paralysis to severe concussion and broken bones is on the table at this point. Hopefully it isn't something that impacts him long term.
Amazing. His crash on Monday, along with the Newgarden crash at Texas a few years back, are two crashes that I was convinced I'd just watched someone die. Incredible that he is up and walking around already.
Holy moley! I wonder how, after holding your daughters like that after a wreck like that, you ever get back into a race car again?
