I'm actually ok with some of the stuff the dems don't like in the bill (get money to everyone - not just who filed taxes, more oversight on the 500B fund), but can we please just drop the special interest crap from it and just get a bare bones bill passed?

 

They've already implied in conversations that it would be an elective surgery, which they won't be doing until early May. My wife hasn't eaten or gotten out of bed since Friday evening, so if they tell us tomorrow that it is elective and will be put off until May, I may get arrested.

Google tells me he lives in NYC. No idea if that is true, but if it is, shouldn't we be looking at the median household income in NYC? Not sure how much that changes, as cost of living is obviously higher as well.

Regardless, I just thought it was interesting that you used the word "devastate." My mother and step father pay $10k a year out of pocket for my younger brother's health issues, and I'd consider them pretty close to the definition of a normal family.

Could they support another $10k? When you are not used to paying out $10k, it hurts. Most people wouldnt be able to find that kind of money, I imagine. That said, the hospitals, if you are uninsured, will probably work with you, write off a big chunk of it and then perhaps let you pay installments.
