I actually know the Mich St VP of communications. She was brought in by the ex-gov when he was interim president to help manage through this. She is an alumnus and just retired from private industry. I can see it on one hand since you love what the university used to be and want to help fix it. But geez.

Or they’re trying to pull a Penn State and act just repentant enough to make the story die down... not gonna work here though. Like Baylor, the cover up/deflection/denial or whatever you want to call it is almost as bad as the actual crimes committed.
