The democratic party is a corrupt group of self-serving, feckless hypocrites who exist at the behest of the ruling class (the ultra-wealthy, corporations, banks, wall street gamblers, special interests, etc) in order to give those with something of a conscience, those capable of empathy, who care about the environment and acknowledge the validity of science the feeling that they are achieving something by voting.

The republicans on the other hand are a corrupt group of self-serving hypocrites who exist at the behest of the ruling class to give the ignorant, the irredeemably selfish, the hateful, the bigoted and the uneducated the feeling of power.

The difference between republican voters and democratic voters is the elephants actually have a chance of helping to effect the changes they want. They won't help themselves but they can contribute to the disenfranchisement of those they don't like.

I vote dem not because I'm under any illusions I'm making the county better but rather to buy a fraction of a second longer in which we still have something vaguley resembling a democracy.

I'm pretty much done voting for either. I can't rationalize it any more. There will be exceptions, but it's been a few elections since I voted for someone in a major party who I didn't know personally or at least knew the family personally.

I'm going to interrupt my political hiatus for a quick [uck fay] you to the socialist left. Bunch of hypocritical, holier than thou purity testing frauds.

I probably was too sensitive at times, but it's ridiculous. And I know exactly why they hate him and it's precisely why they're frauds.

Do you think they hate him because he’s gay?

    1000% serious question.

I do. I believe it plays a big part. This is much more than not being 'left' enough or disagreement on politics. It's personal and it's persistent. And let's make one thing clear - the far left is every bit as racist, homophobic and sexist as is the far right. This election cycle has been very revealing.

I don't think it is because he is gay. They always point to that company he worked for. They see him as a phony corporate shill. I haven't heard them say "boo" about his sexual orientation.

Well this is 2020. If you don’t like someone because he’s gay you don’t broadcast it.

But these are folks who are largely not cisgender/heteronormative folks themselves.

Is Biden not the same corporate shill just that he likes to sniff little girls hair while rubbing them instead of being gay

I remember seeing things that he was "not the right kind of gay" or "not gay enough". But my memory is suspect in all things.

I saw that kind of stuff. But is that the same as hating gays, if the folks saying it are themselves gay and just think he isn't "culturally gay enough" or something like that (I don't know if that is how they would phrase it).

Ultimately it is the same. You are hating someone for being something you are not or not what you think they should be. Labels. Differences. Us v Them. You v Me. Gay vs Not Gay Enough vs Too Gay.

    It's all the same thing.

I don't know about that. Seems to be a way to dismiss any and everyone as just being haters.
