Yeah seems to be a lot of little trades to it. Luckily I have a local bee keeper that's going to help. He seemed happy that I wasn't just scared shitless the first time and would actually get in the hive. Working cattle is way more intimidating
Grandad had some hives years ago. I can remember watching him suit up when I was a littlun. I wasn’t going down there with him for anything.
The old school bastards that would set out sugar water to track and find wild bee hives and then cut the trees down and bring back the hollow log full of bees. Those were some real badass men
Not as badass as the guys in Africa that climb 120 feet up a tree, getting stung 100s of times to get honey for their family and sit there smiling while doing it.
not as badass as the video I saw years ago of a dude in a tribe stick his leg down a hole and let a huge snake start eating it then the other tribesmen pulled him out. Believe the guys name was Nbait
Caught my first wild swarm today. shit got a little crazy and it wasn’t OSHA approved but it’s in the box.
Damn. It's been going that badly for you that all suppliers refuse to sell you bees, so you've had to resort to kidnapping them in the wild?
It’s tough out there man. Honestly the money in bees is selling bees. I could sell this box for three bills and then flip that into crypto and be like a millionaire.
I’ve got a neighbor up the street from me who keeps bees in a residential neighborhood inside city limits. He’s been doing it for about 10 years now and the only swarm that showed up at my house weren’t even his bees. He came over and collected them no problem.
