He was effectively UTs papaw. And the times i met him he would try and find a common ground topic with you. And once he did, he had a story about it.

The only piece of UT memorabilia I have that bears a personal connection is an inscribed and signed photo of Majors addressed to my mother, a state employee at the time. It will always hang prominently wherever I go.
