A true great. Pitched the way pitchers should always throw. What gets lost sometimes, though, is Bob Gibson the man was nothing like Bob Gibson the pitcher. Gibson devoted his life to the Cards. He made them better far beyond his playing days.

To this day, one of the strongest testaments to his greatness was that he was so dominant rules had to be changed.

I am starting to hate seeing this thread bumped.

 

It's not the year, it's where we are in life. Adults when you were young are now at the end of the road.

 

I was saying this very thing to my wife a few weeks ago. Everyone that we idolized as kids are dying now, and soon many of our contemporaries will start dying off faster and faster.

But still, [uck fay] this year.

 

If not already, wait till it becomes a monthly occurrence amongst people you associate with in some way. Suicide, murdered, car wreck, heart attack, stroke, sleep apnea, pills..many leaving small kids.
I get a text too often nowadays.

 

Baseball has taken a beating the last few weeks.
