Again, as much as I’m not in favor of another assistant level guy getting the job, if it were to end up being Mayo I’d be all about it. I think he brings the tools to the table that you need to win in the SEC, and he seems like the kind of guy that would do it the right way.
Now you’re talking. If he had one season to prove he was up to the job... He’d prove it, but I’d just cut to the chase and give him the actual HC title and roll with it.
Naw....I earned that badge through countless, pointless debates last coach search. I’m on brand right now.
I think Venables is the glue that holds that thing together. They’ve had a number of guys rotate responsibilities on the offensive side over the years, but BV has been the constant since the program made its turn from good to elite.

Comparing records between Cincinnati and Minnesota is a little silly IMO—schedules are not similar at all.
I want a guy who at least has SOME experience against SEC level competition and also who knows what it means to be the coach at Tennessee. Somebody who understands that culture beats cliches every. single. time.
Do we think any of these leaks are disinformation ? I mean isn’t that one of the reasons they hired the search firm to keep things quiet till they were ready for it to be released ?
I dont understand a guy like White putting out bad info to mislead. Seems like a silly game for a man as focused as him and a waste of energy.
I don’t think White is putting out bad information, but I think we’ve seen enough in the last few years to know that it doesn’t take much to get bad information out there.
