The trade yesterday was a head scratcher. We traded the equivalent of Kelly Johnson for one year of a relief pitcher who has one good year. The only thing that makes it slightly ok is that AA knows he has to Snitker-proof the pen.
If someone is going to pay Dansby Swanson $25 million/year good for Dansby, but I don’t think it’ll be the Braves.
I am probably in the minority who thinks Dansby will be able to stay at his 2022 level for awhile given his mental makeup. He's a Derek Jeter type competitor. That said, I will not be at all sad if he walks for 25 per like I was when Freddie walked. Is there any possible way the Braves take on Tatis's contract?
I guess the Cubs will probably end up with Dansby. Suppose they nab Correa but I just don’t know if they will do the length he wants.
I am probably a sucker but my prediction as of right now is a hometown discount for Dansby: 6 years, 126 million. This is from me and not my internet sources so do not blame them if it doesn't happen.
I'll have no issue with Vandy Boy not being in Atlanta next year as long as we have a decent backup plan. Grissom and/or Arcia ain't it.
Pretty sure Braden Shewmake is the top position player prospect in the system now. Think his ETA is this season. Don’t know much about him.
Feels like at least one of these deals is going to end up in Bobby Bonilla land. Paying $30 million to a 41 year old shortstop?
It’s weird to me that owners do this. I guess it’s the price of doing business, it only takes one to force the hands of all
