Yes. I wasn't watching the year he won, but man. Incredible almost doesn't describe it. Forget goosebumps, I teared up listening to him.

 

yeah same. I’ve been around kids like Kodi since my son was diagnosed 19 years ago. He now volunteers at the Autism center just around the corner. Beautiful people. And many happier than we will ever be, even though “emotion” isn’t supposed to be there.
Can you imagine the parents the first time they found out he was a savant?

 

That's awesome, and yes they are.

It's amazing. He literally transformed when he started playing.

 

For anyone who did not see it or the backstory...

 

I googled it because “AGT” didn’t immediately mean anything to me

 

I was halfway there. I knew AGT. I just need to Google what about it.

 

I assumed it was some sort of drag queen children's event.

 

The guy transforms from Timmy to Elton John when he gets behind a piano so............................kinda?

 

Humble brag on my little brother, UT's vet school rejected him - along with his 3.96 GPA and recs from multiple of his UT professors - but he got in to UPenn's. I told him a top 5 vet school is a pretty decent consolation prize.

Pretty funny hearing about the interview questions he received vs the ones his minority friends were asked in the UT interview though.

"Do you think you can afford all expenses if you are admitted?" vs. "Are there any legislative issues that have recently passed, or may pass in the near future, that have you worried about the future of veterinary medicine?"

 

Vet school admissions are terrible. Fiefdoms.

 

Hey, let me go a little further. Your brother? That means he is a minority in vet school. They're overwhelmingly made up of women. And you can extrapolate that to graduate and professional programs as a whole. That's the issue and the minority no one wants to talk about yet. It's overwhelming, at 75% enrolled and graduated vs 50% of the general population.

 

If I would've known that, I'd have gone into vet sciences too.

 

I see not all of UT has their heads out of their asses yet.
