I think as long as Tennessee wins 3rd down and doesn’t turn the ball over, it should be pretty straightforward. Iowa doesn’t have a QB that is gonna extend drives with his feet, and we’ll defend the run better against a team with no elite WRs. This will be something like Kentucky or A&M, but if our defense gets off the field on 3rd downs it could be a blowout.
I think Michigan's approach is executable by Tennessee. Don't force anything, just pound on them on offense and hold them on defense.
They've only scored more than 26 points once this season, and it was against Western Michigan. Surely we will have to fire our DC when they drop 50 on us, right?
They are dead last in FBS in total offense. 3105 total yards in 13 games. For reference, thats 700 yards less than Vandy WITH an additional game. I don’t think I can explain how bad it is unless you watch it for yourself. Their defense is stout, but the two competent teams they played beat them with ease.
They’re basically the worst offense of all time for a team that won more than 4 games…and they won 10. They’re a complete anomaly.
Some combo of their defense being pretty damn good and the Big 10 West being an absolute embarrassment.
Why are you calling him "skid row joe?" I get that he doesn't play quarterback as well as you like but skid row sounds like a drug or derelict thing and doesn't match.
I fully expect Iowa to have their best offensive game of the year. Long drives with throws to the RB in the flats, short passes to some random TE that will be wide open across the middle of the field, and 3-4 yards a pop on the ground. I still think we win, but it will be ugly and frustrating.
Iowa is a powerhouse on producing front 7 guys. They catch a lot of shit but for what they have as a recruiting base, they do a good job of always being respectable. they’re just boring as hell to watch on offense
