Yeah, Nixon was very smart and the consummate politician. Trump is a bombastic reality TV star that somehow found his way into the Presidency Idiocracy style.

 

Trump gets people. He likely isn’t well-read or have a lot of deep knowledge about a wide variety of things. But he gets people.

This is absolutely true. But the difference between you shouting out "Monkeys in tuxedos!" and Trump shouting out "Monkeys in tuxedos!" is that no one cares what you think or say, where as what the President of the United States of America thinks and says is very much under scrutiny and has repercussions beyond people giggling.

But, yes, your statement is truth.

Texting to one person you probably know well doesn't require the same level of scrutiny as a message that will be seen by millions. I'd be double-checking and probably triple and quadruple-checking the latter. I doubt he cares, though.
