I would listen to the radio again if they got someone in there that was good. Kesling is probably a great guy all around, but just isn't great to listen to during the games.
Kesling is extremely nice, will talk to anyone and knows his stuff. He then gets on the radio and can't pronounce "Dobbs"
I should be clear, here, as well - Kesling seems like an all-around good dude, and I’ve never heard anyone say a cross word about him, even in passing. But he’s a tv guy who has been trying to do radio as if it’s tv, and it just isn’t. That’s why he’s terrible, but so would almost anyone be, given the same circumstances. And, much like Butch and Dooley - I don’t blame Kesling for taking the gig, at all. I’ve never called a game in my life, and would take the gig today, if offered. And it’d be a complete calamity. I blame Tennessee for not being better prepared for Ward’s departure, and in thinking that a round peg can fit in a square hole simply because the round peg hung around long enough to be the most easily grabbed next piece.
