    Adams brings the wood, here:

Amazing what good leadership and telling certain people to go away can do.

Hmm, I wonder if a certain family has anything to do with this.

I did find it curious that they said no university / athletic / public monies were being used.

If not from the University, then from whom seems like a naturally reasonable question to wonder.

If some loaded jabroni(s) want(s) to foot the bill, not really my problem, nor do I take issue.

It circumvents public oversight and is a type of corruption, imo. This isn't their private enterprise to do as they please

    It is exactly this.

Now, whether or not we’d raise the same questions if the same non-University sources funded Butch’s buyout, is also fair to wonder.

The issue is that said jabroni is likely to demand some degree of say in University decisions moving forward, and he's very likely the guy that already made $25 million worth of mistakes.

And 25 million only accounts for direct expenses, not the massive loss of revenue some of these terrible decisions have cost us.

Not only the University, but the city itself.

Was thinking the exact same thing. The opportunity costs and image costs are impossible to to know exactly, but they are potentially multiples of that 25 million number.

And the state. And the value of the university's name, potentially.
