That's the common opinion, but I also wonder if he wants to work for someone like Lou at this point in his career
Draft is pretty fun as things are really wide open from 3/4 to 11/12. Boqvist has been my guy for about a year, great skates and not afraid to make a 40 foot first pass, with a nice shot. He could go anywhere from 5 to 11 I think. Would love Quinn Hughes and Oliver Wahlstrom but they won't make it through Detroit and Chicago, and neither is worth parlaying another #1 to get IMO. Montreal being Montreal will draft on today's need and probably take Kotkaniemi, whereas Zadina is the better overall player. I'm both not sold and 100% confident on Brady Tkachuk, he will play 800 NHL games and have a good career, but nothing about him says gamebreaker. 60 point guy for a while, which is grand, but I think the Rangers need to shoot for something wild.
Rangers 2nd round picks since 2010 have played 57 NHL games total. Also, they've never drafted a 1st team all-star forward.
No doubt, Hayton was a surprise. Kotkaniemi was a reach too but seemed to be a guaranteed pick. I feel that the nature of the game should make you pick the best player available, it's not NFL or NBA where a kid can step in tomorrow, outside of a very small group.
With a horrible defense and a sub-replacement goaltender. Toronto definitely pushed all in, being the Leafs it will blow up in their face.
Was looking at some NHL stats, came across a cool one: Gordie Howe’s best career season came in 68-69 when he scored 103 points. Only season in his career he scored 100+. He was 41 years old that season. Wasn’t just sitting back and dumping pucks for assists either. He scored 44 goals that year.
TSN guy saying Karlsson to Tampa is done, being run by the league now. Rangers might be involved with taking salary on.
