Just to remind people, they may vote for three people to replace the three Confederate days.

I didn’t see Mr. Al Wilson’s name, and have abstained, in protest.

How about too many people get too many honors already?

Tina Turner loves Tennessee back so much she doesn't even live in the country.

    Perfect 36? A golf score?

Nashville Movement? Is that what you get if you eat the wrong hot chicken?

It was mentioned earlier. Perfect 36 is from the state of Tennessee being the 36th state to adopt the amendment for the women's right to vote and, thereby, passing it into the Constitution. The Nashville Movement was the incubator for much of the non-violent protest movement during the Civil Rights Movement.

I'm lazy and don't like honoring things by the bushel. Seriously though, we have enough special days that many get lost in the shuffle anyway. Nashville Movement sounds okay. Perfect 36 is terrible. We'd be better off if women didn't vote.

if women shouldn't vote, I don't know how one could not conclude men shouldn't either. how about everyone follows their own convictions. abstain from voting if you feel so moved.

there's no way to tell for me on here. I never know what wild take from decades gone by will get dropped in like it was the right answer all along.

It’s like Lee Jackson Day here in Virginia. I mean, the Friday before Martin Luther King Day.

    Just amazing

That’s damn sure gonna be my M.O. going forward if I feel like I have to vote AGAINST somebody rather than FOR somebody. Too many election cycles have passed where I had to hold my nose and vote for somebody I despised because the other candidate was even more repulsive. No more. If I have to do that, I’d rather not vote at all.
