Trust me - I know. I'd not be nearly as excited if I had to wear pads.

 

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo, we're canceled.

 

stupid afternoon lightning storms.

 

We only get a certain number of summer practice days, and head coach doesn't want to waste one today.

 

I think that was a smart move considering the heat and how it's going to cool off next week.


I always worry about the first week. Even though we do weight lifting and running during the summer.

 

10u (sons team) amd 12u practiced and got called early due to lightning. Got 90 minutes in.

 

First practice was awful. Had 5 kids throw up. It was hot, but they were just not ready. We've got a long ways to go.

 

Sounds like hell and felt like it too I bet

 

Yup, on both fronts. There are 3 kids I'll bet won't make it two weeks.

 

Head coach is out sick tonight. Gonna install the 5 wide empty backfield set.

 

And now I'm laughing hysterically what the coaches of every other team would do if we actually lined up in that set one play.

And the reaction of our 60 year old line coach who doesn't think we should throw the ball EVER and should line in in Power I every play.

 

Just hired one of my former coaches as my assistant. Life has come full circle. I’m ecstatic about it.

 

Me - Hey man, you were the last to sign up to be a manager and we are full so sorry but you won't get a team. Nothing other than that.

Guy - Can I have a refund for my son then?

Sad.

 

Sheesh. Glad he is putting his son first in his life.

 

This one was a jaw dropper. I mean, I shouldn't be surprised, but I am.

 

Things like this are why I put up with the rest of Twitter.

So i'm now on the little league board as secretary and am doing the practice and game schedule. i was able to avoid being named VP like card so that's good i guess.

 

I hope you have 300 days of rain.

I'm now scheduling fall league games.

 

bet we won't have more than a couple of rain outs in the fall. if any.
