UTs vision since firing Fulmer tells me they have a poor one or not one at all. Right now JG has a better chance to read Bamas defense for 4 quarters, than UT having a vision that sells. Meyer is going to SC if he goes anywhere. It's too easy compared the SEC. Stoops wouldnt risk his rep on a SEC schedule. Their best bet is Leach. He has another step he can take and that's probably not gonna happen in Pullman.
Pruitt was refreshing in that he was our first guy in a decade who could actually talk football. Imagine finding a HC who can take it a step further and actually coach football.
Even if they don't win, it would be entertaining. And at this point, I'm about ready to say give Leach whatever he wants, win 7 or 8 games every year while our QBs rewrite the UT record books, enjoy the occasional 10 win season and a trip to Atlanta, and throw in the towel on the idea of trying to win a national title.
That’s where I’m at. Let’s ride that out for 5-8 years and maybe we can finally hire a next level coach when he’s done.
No more hiring plumbers or electricians or such to build the damn house. Get a coach. Someone that doesn't have to learn how to build the damn house, they know how to do it.
Leach with the right DC would be a lot of fun and we'd win a lot of games. He actually went and got a good DC for Washington state standards and it's helped him a lot.
Unfortunately, if Fulmer makes the next hire our candidate pool will consist of Matt Luke, Randy Sanders, Bobby Bowden, Robert Peace, and Phillip Fulmer.
Fulmer was [uck fay]ed with this hire, he had little to work with. I give him another shot. But he needs to put his big boy pants on and hire the best we can afford.
Until people in power can put their egos away and step aside for someone to do their damn job, nothing will change.
