2014 Football Schedule: Random Predictions

  1. RockyHill

RockyHill Loves Auburn more than Tennessee.

I don't believe Oklahoma is even close to being what they're made out to be. Yes, they are much more talented, but I don't believe the disparity is large enough to preclude us from competing. It doesn't mean they aren't capable of throttling us, but the Oklahoma team that beat Alabama is the same one that could only muster 16 points against a WVU defense that was god awful. You never know which version of OU will show up. Contrast that with Alabama, where I don't see any scenario in which we can win.

I think seven wins is very possible. I think we beat Florida and Ole Miss. I'm just not very high on Hugh Freeze and as long as Bo Wallace is their QB they can be beaten. We have to get to six wins, somehow, some way. More important than anything though, and this doesn't hinge on wins/losses, is whether or not we look the part against our tougher opponents. I think this season will give us an answer on Butch and what he may be capable of. He may be able to recruit his way to an 8 or 9 win season, but coaching ability alone will allow you to surpass that level, and after this year we'll most likely know if we have our man.

We beat Oklahoma. We start off the season 6-0 and then drop the next three and none of them are particularly pretty. The Bye week comes at a perfect time for us to regroup for a homestretch of winnable games, and we we win all 3.

    9-3 regular season.

Or possibly 8-4. But I'm not sure whether I should flip Georgia or Oklahoma. I don't want to flip Georgia because I think we're going to beat Georgia. And I don't want to flip Oklahoma because it pisses me off how grossly this board overrates that team. A team that isn't even on our level talentwise HOnestly, if Oklahoma had a collective penis, this board would go full-on death match mode for the right of first fellatio. Hat can already taste the precum. It whets his palette.

I'll buy stock in Shout Wipes to account for the increase in protein stains. Who makes those? Proctor and Gamble? Nope, just checked, SC A Johnson.

You could be right - and I really hope that you are. I'd love to see a 6-0 start.

But, I don't believe that you are.

It's a well-established fact that I'm not intelligent(?) enough to hold out any hope of being a successful sports bettor, and could easily be vastly overrating the Sooners. But even considering my notable short-comings , I'm entirely comfortable in saying that OU beats us by 24+ points.

The good news is that we'll get to see who is most correct, come game day.

I'm not sure what to say in response to the fellatio portion of your post, and will just leave it unanswered, or for others to address.

I don't believe that our temporary (and right now, largely imagined / hoped for) uptick is going to be sufficient to overcome UGA / FL / USCe, even in their "down" season.

I wouldn't favor Tennessee to win against any of those three teams, right now. Florida may be the only one worth even a serious discussion, at the moment, and that's purely due more to Muschamp's seemingly bottomless incompetence, rather than Tennessee's prowess.

I don't see why thinking the Sooners are going to beat the shit out of a team like Tennessee is vastly overrating them. Our greatest accomplishments over the last few years are a single win over South Carolina, some almost wins on the backs of a QB and WRs that aren't here anymore, and an almost win against a banged up UGA team that played poorly.

And yet, Muschamp has won every game against UT by at least 2 scores. We haven't been within a score of UF when the clock hit 00:00 since 2006.

If we can get to 6-6 it will be a successful season in my mind. I just don't see us beating UGA or USCe on the road.

I think our best chance at win #6 for the season will come against UF or Mizzou at home. Hopefully we will have improved enough towards the end of the season we'll be able to beat Mizzou. Although, I'd rather win that UF game more. Would be huge, regardless of where they are right now. Need to break that streak.

Should be an interesting season. I think as long as we show promise and get to a bowl game, 2015 and 2016 will be the years to watch for a jump in progress.

You're spot on. Freeze's teams play at a level/pace that can't be matched by anything Jancek/Baja will put on the field. That game has the makings of a slaughter.
