Be prepared, Tennessee is now the SEC east media darling. They've got easy stories in Dobbs, the engineering genius who can play qb, a legit All American at defensive end and a 230 lb freight train at tailback.
Just an indictment of the East. The fact that Missouri has represented the division the last two years is shameful. USC appears to have peaked. Who knows what UF will look like. UK is better but they're still UK. Vandy is trash. UGA will have a new OC, new QB, deadly ground game though. I'd have to put UGA as the favorite and even then they're probably an 8 win team. UT a close 2nd.
UGA is going to rely on two running backs to stay healthy to be good. Tennessee is going to rely on a qb and a running back's health to be good. USCe still has Pharoh Cooper but loses Mike Davis. They're problems were a defense that couldn't tackle air. Mizzou loses a lot on defense Florida needs a lot of speed on offense. I don't think you fix that in one recruiting class. UK is still UK and Vandy is Vandy
It's a testament to the talent Butch has brought in and to how lazy reporters are. A qb with a 3.8 and is an engineering major? Easy story. A 230 lb running back that's fun to watch? Easy highlights. A defensive end that, at times, is unblockable? Easy highlights. Tennessee is far from fixed. The ol is still a major question mark. The defensive line is going to rely heavily on 2 freshmen (I think that will be okay, but the majority of your good teams don't rely on freshmen on the dl) and the defensive backfield is going to experience some turnover.
Sure. Selling the sizzle. It's been a long time since we've had this type DT talent. O-line really concerns me.
But we will never have to see Justin Coleman getting burnt worse than Paul Walker (yeah, that's bad) by him, or any other receiver for that matter, while wearing Tennessee Orange ever again...... Thank goodness.
There's going to be a new nickel, the corner opposite Sutton and I think McNeil gets jumped by tkjr. Whoever takes AJ's spot is going to be young. A lot of talent, not a lot of experience
I honestly can't fathom anyone being worse than Coleman, so that may well be a case of addition by subtraction. AJ leaves a big hole. Maybe Bates will show out
Any "good" talk by the networks only helps get the message out to these kids is that Tennessee is up and coming. That's always good.
