The Never-ending College basketball season thread

Sadly, this is the state of major college athletics.

 

Are there any brackets that are not in shambles?

 

I really doubt it. Very rare for people to pick multiple high seed upsets AND not just be picking upsets all over.

 

I’m 14th in points as of right now in the 8th bracket, but 5th possible points remaining

 

Shaka Smart bailing on Texas for Marquette

 

Not surprised. Smart was on thin ice in Austin and he's from Wisconsin. In fact, I actually played against him in high school (We won).

 

I need Shaka to coach at Wichita State so we can call them the Shakas.

 

I've thought about this for at least 5 years.

Mike Woodson seems like a rather underwhelming hire for IU.

 

A 63 year old coach who has never coached college. That’s pretty shocking how far down their board they had to go to get someone to take the job.

 

It was always going to be an Indiana guy, so being from Indy, playing for Knight fits that bill.

And they hired Thad Matta to work in the AD, so that’s a decent combo.

I thought they could have gone younger, but nobody asked me.

 

They wanted Matta as the HC. They basically hired 2 head coaches which is definitely different. I'm interested to see how it turns out. It is nice to have an Indiana guy in charge and if he and Matta can work together it could be a home run combo.

 

I'm done with going for underdogs. Just gonna be for Gonzaga from here on in. They are fun to watch. Jalen Suggs is going to do great things in the NBA. Now watch them lose to USC.
