All I can really find of him on film are a few minutes of highlights from high school, but here's my take: Pros: - He's 7'1". Can't teach that. - He could present matchup problems for traditional bigs on offense, because he can step out and shoot the 3. - Appears to be at least a decent FT shooter for 7'1". - Better at ballhandling than you might think. Cons: - Looks like he has about an 8 inch vertical. I'm not sure he's going to be a great rim protector even at his size. - Plays below the rim more than you would think for someone that tall. - He's not a great athlete. He will probably struggle guarding the more athletic SEC bigs such as Blackshear or Richards.
Does he have good touch around the rim? Is he aggressive going after rebounds? are my two biggest questions.
We need bodies, period. He can go out and be terrible as long as he plays hard. That would put him on par with most of the roster at this point.
I don't think he'll have the impact of Vescovi. But, he's a 7 footer. So, that's good. My guess is he'll give us a few buckets and boards a game, about 5 and 5 each, while giving Fulky some rest in spots.
Hes slow Hes not athletic He can't rebound He can't score He can't guard no body Hes too tall He can't block a shot He fouls too much Hes weak He can't help us Hes terrible Hes awful Let's ride
teammates like him and hes 7'1. and a lefty. Have no idea if he is soft or not. Length helps though and we are outsized at the 4 and 5 every game by several inches every game.
I feel like rim protection is probably the last thing we need in a big man given our current construction. The top needs are generally competent bodies, scoring, and rebounding. We’ve defended alright, even when we’ve been overall terrible
