2019 Vols

At the end of possessions when plays broke down last year, it seemed like no one could put his head down and get past his man and drive to the basket. That's apparently the grad transfer's strength, but he struggles from distance.. Kind of the opposite of James Daniel last year. We'll see how it turns out.

 

The guy is barely 6 feet tall. Good luck with that.

 

Bone got there when he wanted but was 50/50 on the layup.

 

Look how many times Bone got blocked against Kentucky in the SEC tournament.

 

Then dish or kick out. He also missed a bunch of uncontested ones last year. Additionally, every team that plays Ky will have trouble finishing at the rim.
This transfer is explosive and can run. Daniel last year was basically a spot up shooter. We can't go into a season with one guard that can create. Now we have 2 and both are quick and handle well.

 

Got to think people like Pons, Johnson & Walker are going to be much improved this year.

If there is one thing Barnes does very well, it's develop their skills.

 

Pons could be a difference maker if he gets better ball skills

 

Yes they can all play too. Hoping Barnes can get with Fore and make him more dangerous from 3. One thing I noticed is Fore jumped to shoot a few times and landed 3 feet closer to basket. Too much math and adjustment to be made. Get him up and down more consistently and he will shoot better.

 

Walker showed some promise at times last year. A year in the weight room, and working on the low post game is gonna show next season.

 

I think it was less than that. There's no doubt he can get there though.

He's really the difference in how far we go next year IMO.

 

wonder if that means the other Mann kid is coming, or if he wants a guaranteed starting role, or something else. We need a penetrator.

I don't really think this guy was going to make or break us. If it was because we got in on someone else, this could be good.
