I was up there last summer. It's a nice campus, but it's a prototypical huge-school-in-the-middle-of-nowhere. There are some nice bars that cater to non-college crowds, I can recommend some if you want. I personally wouldn't call it a dump, but it is a long damned way from a big city and it does have a pretty large agricultural presence. State College is literally populated only by staff, students and people who run businesses to support the staff and students.
Started 10 games for them. Went to the same high school as the safety we just landed, who is teammates with 5 star Rakim Jarrett.
Former 4 star, looking at his stats he struggles to complete passes but somehow managed to have a good td/int ratio. Adds depth and competition and more importantly, maybe another inroad to Jarrett.
I believe Jarrett is being recruited by Neidermeyer and Ansley. UT not being shy about wanting him on board.
This is one of the two big reasons I believe that the NFL has went down as a product. Their talent evaluations aren't based on watching guys play in college anymore.
He's scored several times but I'm referring to a play where they fumbled and the opposition was running it back for a TD. Hyatt came from out of nowhere to lay the shit out of the guy at the 1yd line.
Whoever "X" is on Basilio absolutely nailed it when writing up about Hyatt last month. http://tonybasilio.com/index.php?page=x_recruiting
