Unfortunately I haven't had that result. Immobility leads to atrophy and it didn't matter if I still did lunges with my other leg or curls/extensions with my right arm after shoulder surgery on the left. Actually after rotator cuff surgery it's hard to move at all. You'd be surprised how much shoulders are involved with movement and it can hurt just to stand up
I've broken my leg a couple of times. The broken one atrophied even though I was crutching around and using my good one more than usual. So I am really perplexed by the idea of atrophy stopping if the good limb is used. I can't think of a circumstance where the good limb is not used more.
It's the cross-transfer of strength effect and we don't fully understand it, but will basically keep you from were you started during injury. You only lose 2 or so percent instead of close to 30 percent normally While training for this you want to focus on eccentric exercises over concentric
Nearly 5k came out in non-ideal weather for opening day. Today is the highest attended opening day crowd in program history. That seems positive
