Gotcha... And maybe @NYY is completely correct is believing that to be the smart move.

On the contrary, I feel like hiring a dad/HS coach is very short sided and unnecessary move when you're trying to actually build a program. If nobody else is having to hire the dad to get the commitment then you shouldn't do it. Get him by being successful.

 

Difference is that his dad isn’t trying to jumpstart his career on the coattails of his son.
