Eh, I never buy the "They hate us" narratives. They loved the shit out of us in football, for sure. They've hyped our basketball team a bunch of times over the past few years. Maybe some of their guys have some lingering rivalries from their playing days, but it's just a media station. They are looking for people to watch. I do think they hype certain teams more than others, especially if those teams can garner eyeballs.
If it is the one I am thinking of, he has a silly high vertical. Like 45 inches, and he isn't a lean basketball player.
Assuming those numbers are accurate (big assumption) and assuming my quick research is accurate (even bigger assumption), his vertical would be the NFL combine record and his broad jump would be in the top 10.
Okay, so that is as unusual as I thought. I don't look at those things much but it jumped out at me as an extreme outlier among even elite athletes.
