What the hell is your point? You are saying 10-2 is impossible as long as Butch is coach. Do you honestly believe that, knowing we almost hit it this season and will have a much easier road to it next season with much better talent and depth? Seriously?[/QUOTE]

Let me amend/restate what I believe and my point. I believe that Butch Jones, in his current philosophical coaching state, will not reach 10-2 on his coaching merits. That is my point. If he adapts, which he has shown this season that he will not, to his talent and recognizes that you cannot EVER take your foot off the gas pedal offensively in this league, then I believe he can achieve 10 wins or more easily and consistently. I just have not seen anything up to this point to make me believe that he will do so.

I also stand behind my point that his coaching and in-game management cost us OK and FL, and he is the difference between 8-4 and 10-2 this season. If our only losses were to Arkansas and Alabama, everyone would be singing a different tune about the season. I think everyone here believes that the talent is there for 10, 11 wins next year. I will not argue that point at all. It is there. Where I differ is to say that there is so much talent that Butch cannot mess it up. He most certainly can, and I have seen nothing from him up to this point to make me believe otherwise.

Honestly, I hope so, too. I just don't have any confidence that he will. Seen too much this season to believe that he has the wherewithal to get out of the way. I guess I'm just too old for that. However, I will also agree on the talent and the schedule. I will root for TN until the day I die, but I just don't believe in the HC.

His teams consistently start well enough to convince me that he's not a total idiot, and that he actually has something he does well as a football coach. I just don't have faith in him to have the humility to recognize his weaknesses and compensate for them. I would love to be proven wrong though.

Many of us aren't going to do 'it' next year. We're not gonna hope for something that won't happen while Botch is here. Several people have stopped following the games except to maybe see who won.

I'm not sure South Carolina will be better coached in 2016.

Jesus Christ, I've never been to one of those other sites, but this is the exact rational I expect from them. We could be 10-2 right now, it's true. But we aren't because our coach is a,

Yeah, no shit. Just because Butch sucks doesn't mean every other coach is amazing. Muschamp is a shitty head football coach. Not sure why he threw that in there.

Correct, Butch sucking doesn't mean other coaches are amazing. Real high level thinking there. Regardless, Muschamp has a better record than Butch and is 2-0 against him.

Edit: and I'm not even saying Muschamp is a better head coach. Just saying assuming that we'll beat USCjr next year doesn't seem smart to me.

You said USCjr. will be better coached next season, which you said based on the fact that Muschamp will be their coach.

Edit 1: Wait, so it was smart to assume we would win 9, or even 10 games this season, but it's not smart to assume we will beat a shitty team with a shitty coach next season? Are you ****ing high?

Edit 2: Muschamp will be 2-1 against Butch at the end of next season.

Timeout. When the hell did I say it would be smart to assume we'd win 9 or 10 games this season? You're just making shit up.

We just went through a big debate about the preseason expectations for this year, during which the majority said 8-4 was the minimum with 9-3 being the expectation. Some even said 10-2. I don't remember if you stated what you thought, but you certainly disagree with anyone saying 9-3 or 10-2.

I think most stated a top end coach would get 10. 9 was the expectation and anything under 8 being unacceptable.

Ok, I don't think this is all that complicated but maybe I'm wrong. My expectations for next year (or any year) are not necessarily what I expect to happen.

-My expectations for next year are high (11 wins)
-I expect us to win 9 games next year

Those statements are not mutually exclusive. My expectations are a standard by which results can be measured, thus they aren't automatically what I expect to happen.

This is what we've been arguing about this whole time. You predict we will win 11 games next year, or in other words that is what you expect to happen. You expect that result because our team will be more experienced and talented and some of our opponents will be down or have new coaches. My expectations for next year are high, 11 wins is reasonable. This expectation is based off of what a coach should be able to accomplish with the roster we will have next season. However, I expect that we will win 9 games next year because our "coach" couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

If that was redundant, I'm sorry. But, after all this time you didn't seem to get it so it seemed necessary. Go Vawls.

My expectations.. Are not necessarily what I expect to happen.

Do I even need to keep reading? I don't want to.

Yes, you need to. See, per their definitions, the words expectations and standards should not be used interchangeably. However, in the English language we do sometimes use them interchangeably. You are struggling mightily to grasp this concept.

And Muschamp is going to coach USCjr. up. Please, continue schooling me on all these things I don't understand.

I said they'd be improved, which is a real low bar. But go ahead, don't actually acknowledge what I said, it's cool.
