Forgot to mention I had Freddie’s while on the road last week. One of the better burgers I’ve had. 2 smash patties. Though I shoulda gotten fries. Tots weren’t that great.
Mr Gatti’s was a deal. I walked back up that hill to Hess hurting many times. You didn’t go there to eat. You went there to prove a point…
Boo bringing up the rear already probably making his teammates run more. Old school in me tells Boo to get his breath and sit one out while his teammates run https://x.com/gmannvols/status/2016167276043805071?s=46
And that laundromat that had beer. We’d go there without laundry. Somebody knew every hour of every deal on and around campus and would come in the door and say “it’s 2 for 1 pitchers at 4 at..” and we’d head out. Animal hour at Hawkeyes had the most overall repurcussions. You had one goal going there for animal hour, and it was to drink a lot in a short time.
New strength coach filled his staff. Brought a couple more assistants from IU. Word is our guys were hurting last week like they haven’t since they’ve been there.
Good. I remember hearing Cedrick Wilson talking to some teammate in a class we shared about how sore he was from Stucky's workout the previous day. I also remember us winning a lot back then, too.
For sure. Everybody can go to practice. Same for every sport. You could tell in lacrosse games who had done 1000s of wall ball by themselves with both hands and who hadn’t. Catch and pass or shoot in a millisecond while the kid who didn’t is just trying to catch the ball. I’m pretty excited to be done with Banks and strength coach. Like when Guarantano was finally done. Our in season training will be interesting too. I don’t think this new staff will back away from trying to get stronger as the season progresses. Not tackling and not lifting heavy in season showed up. Intensity level on defense will be back.
Go listen to the guys from the '00 & '01 miami hurricanes. They'll say that Tommy Moffit is what made them elite.
Joey Aguilar removes himself from the Pavia lawsuit BUT hired Cam Norris as his lawyer. Looks like he wants to get out of the group lawsuit so he can maybe speed up the process for getting an injunction. Judge wouldn't have to look at 20+ people while determining if he should issue an injunction. Joey's case is almost identical to Pavia, That judge gave Pavia an injunction so he could play.
