I had a kid this year in football that didn't know right and left. He was killing us on the d-line, because he'd never shift. I ended up having to put a big L and R on his hands for left and right.
It amazes me how some of our players are in the 7th/8th grade. We have wristbands that every single player wears that tells them exactly what to do, and they are position specific. We still had to tell some of these kids exactly what to do, because they couldn't read. For example, one of our backs had no idea what stalk 2 meant after hours and hours of us telling him what it was. Every single time we had to tell him what to do. How in the hell do you get to junior high not being able to read?
Probably starting with the 15 year old 7th grader Oldvol described. That would be the point at which to euthanize him.
