His play over the last two games isn't going to keep him out and neither is that tweet.

 

Admiral can have a great career as a 3 and D guy.

 

I can see why players bring this up. It pretty obviously irritates them. Imagine seeing your coach ride you and your teammates ridiculously hard and then slink away from confronting referees the vast majority of time.

I don't see it. I'd love it, but he seems to disappear/go cold too much from outside.

 

I’ve always thought a lot of people want the coach to be an extension of their own personality. “Well if it was me I’d a lost my shit and got arrested” and if they don’t react the same, then they’re not reacting correctly

 

Obviously he only sticks up for white turkeys

He’s backpedaling now, saying his tweet was misinterpreted.

But in the example he used, Pop was thrown out of the game. So that doesn’t make any sense.

 

It doesn't add up on the surface, for sure.

 

I don't remember any other coaches going as crazy as Pop did. And since when can Barnes not go off on a ref?

It doesn’t have to make sense. He said what he said and meant it as it was intended and taken. This follow up is just to be able to say that he didn’t mean it that way, even though he did.

I don’t recall Barnes getting a Tech all year. Never once felt like he didn’t have the freedom to speak that other coaches have. Just isn’t his style.

But I don’t know why I’m even trying to understand this explanation. We know what he meant in original tweet.

 

He works em when they are up and down the court the whole game.
