Locksley finally got around to interviewing him since he didn't know who he was or why he was at Bama.
Saban: “Do me a favor and take intern Butch with you when you head to Maryland. Give him some bullshit titles and positions and he’ll be happy. Least you can do for me, aight?” Locksley: “Not sure who you’re talking about, but sure thing. If you hired him he can’t be too bad” ... Locksley: “Hey, uh, Nick... What the [uck fay]? I think this intern Butch guy is retarded. I can’t have him anywhere near my team. Why was he on your staff at all in the first place?” Saban: “God damn Sexton”
Butch turned Maryland down, I believe because he thought Saban would put him on staff. Saban laughed at him.
Seems as if I remember some talk of him possibly being the OC at BAMA... but we see how that turned out
Butch stayed at Bama another year because he's dying to get himself an NC ring. He's the kind of guy that will show it off proudly and act like he played a major role in earning it.
I do think LSU is going to score at will on Bama, and I don't think Bama's offense will be able to respond to that pressure.
tua might not even play. of course that gives the CFP people the perfect excuse to have lsu and bama in the playoff.
Fortunately they play LSU so late in the season that loss should allow ohio state/penn state or Oklahoma to take their spot. Playoff teams will very likely be LSU, OSU, OU, and Clemson
Butch's situation in Alabama is just another move in Saban's game of 3D chess he's playing with Tennessee. Butch Jones was a plant that was sent here to destroy our football program.
