As a student at UT right now, that is utterly embarrassing. I understand that they committ a lot of time to the football program, but come on, these classes arent that difficult.

the scholarship player gpa average was about a 1.9something and 30 of those players are currently on academic probation - which requires two consecutive semesters of lower than a 2.0 or a overal gpa under 2.0 at any time.

Unreal. So surely at least some players will be ineligible this season. That's a big turnaround to raise a GPA 0.35 points.

 

Especially if it's older guys. If it's upperclassmen that's borderline impossible.

Any junior with a 1.9 cumulative GPA is pretty well boned without a 16+ hour semester of a 3.8. -Assuming the math I did on this napkin is correct.

 

I'm pretty sure you're not at UT, even if you are an athlete at that point.

Also, and I am not 100% on this, but I think the 2.08 is just the fall semester, not cumulative.

 

Alright. But apparently we still have 30 guys with two straight semesters of sub 2.0s. The cumulative GPA can't be too pretty for those guys.

 

Regardless, barely passing is all one has to do to stay eligible. If you can poke into the 2.0 land every other semester, you skate.
